The redhead is forever grateful to the 69-year-old for taking on the role of Meghan's own father, Thomas Markle. He couldn't attend the royal wedding because he had to undergo heart surgery in the United States. Speaking on new BBC documentary 'Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70', Harry reveals: "I asked him if he could do it and I think he knew it was going to happen. He said straight away, 'Yes, of course, I'll do whatever Meghan needs and I'm here to support you guys.' For him it was a fantastic opportunity to step up and be that support and you know he's our father so obviously he's going to be there for us. Just because he's my dad doesn't mean I can just say, 'Okay, that's all, I'll take it from here.'"
During the wedding ceremony at St George's Chapel, Harry could be heard saying "Thank you Dad" to Charles as he led Meghan down the aisle. Charles' wife Camilla reveals it was a "very touching" moment: "You couldn't hear what he was saying from where I was sitting. But when I saw it later on TV, I thought it was a lovely gesture." The 71-year-old explains that her husband is often underestimated: "It's the things he does behind the scenes that people don't know about. I don't think people realize how kind he actually is."
