A campaign has been launched under the motto TheShowMustBePaused to commemorate the victims of racism and police violence. "In response to the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and countless other black citizens by the police", as it says on the initiative's official website, the entire music industry in the USA is to rest on June 2nd.

Various record labels such as Warner Records have already pledged their support for Black Out Tuesday. In addition, participating US radio stations will cancel their broadcasts, while music stations such as MTV and VH1 will also stop their programs for 24 hours. According to "The Verge", on Spotify it should take eight minutes and 46 seconds before a playlist or podcast can be selected - the length of time a US police officer knelt on Floyd's neck on May 25th and thus the death of the 46- year olds.

You can see in our video how a number of Hollywood stars are trying to attract attention.

TheShowMustBePaused was recently created by African American music producers Jamila Thomas and Brianna Agyemang. Since then, stars like The Rolling Stones, Eminem, Billie Eilish and Quincy Jones had been promoting the initiative via social networks.
