The bitter public fight for Britney Spears' freedom seems to have paid off in the end. In the wake of a year-long court odyssey and the Free Britney fan movement, father Jamie Spears has agreed to step down as the singer's guardian, according to court papers obtained by The Sun. With these documents, however, new, violent details from the long guardianship also come to light. In particular, Jamie's wife Lynne Spears is said to have used her daughter's assets and stolen millions of dollars from her.
So much money is missing from Britney's account

On the one hand Britney can finally breathe a sigh of relief, on the other hand she should once again realize how little influence she has had on her own life, her family and her money in the past 13 years. The fact that her own mother, of all people, shamelessly took advantage of the situation and used her million-dollar fortune for her own purposes could give Britney another slap in the face.
Lynne is said to have siphoned off around $2 million from the singer over the course of her guardianship, and in a very clever way: "Despite her estranged relationship with Britney, the Conservatorship Estate owned the mansion in Louisiana, in that Lynne lives, pays, and continues to pay - including all utility bills, weekly housekeeping, and all maintenance," the court filings said. A total of around $150,000 is said to have been taken from Britney's account in the year. Calculated over the entire guardianship period, the stolen sum amounts to 2 million dollars.
Jamie Spears retaliates against his wife

No less than Jamie is said to have blacked out his wife in court. Is he just looking for other black sheep to look better himself? After Lynne begged the court to remove her husband from guardianship, he now launched a retaliation. He also said through his lawyers: "Lynne has had only limited involvement in Ms. Spears' life over the past thirteen years. She hasn't played a parental role in her life for decades." Lynne was also too "ignorant" to properly resolve family differences and legal issues. For this reason, their statements and agitation in court are not to be regarded as usable.
It is still unclear who is right in this case. In fact, if Jamie does step down as guardian and hand over his responsibilities to more official people, Britney might finally get a chunk of her life back. And then at the latest she will find out what disgrace has been pursued with her fortune.
