Recently, a scene from "Gute Zeiten, Schlechte Zeiten" shocked viewers. When Moritz Bode kissed a male date in public, he was first insulted by two men in a homophobic manner and then beaten. Now "GZSZ" has also started a campaign against homophobia outside of the series.
As the industry service "DWDL" reports, "Gute Zeiten, Schlechte Zeiten" has launched a corresponding campaign on social networks under the hashtag NothingAgainstHeteros. In short clips, which are not only played out on YouTube, but also on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, among other things, prejudices that members of the LGBTIQA community are usually confronted with are aimed at heterosexuals.
Irony against homophobia
"Hetero? It's just a phase," says Moritz actor Lennart Borchert in the first clip of the series. "And what would you do if your children were straight," asks colleague Valentina Pahde in another spot. Other "GZSZ" actors are to follow, including series veteran Wolfgang Bahro.
"The idea came with the current story at 'GZSZ' to draw attention to homophobia," says Alexander Möllmann from UFA Serial Drama, according to the industry service. "You can read insults like 'I have nothing against gays, as long as they leave me alone' almost every day. By turning them around, we want to show how hurtful, absurd and intrusive such formulations are."
