The couple have been happily married for 32 years and have two grown children.
But now the 62-year-old actor revealed that he had his problems preparing for the marriage proposal. Because he wanted to keep the proposal secret, Bacon had no one to help him choose the ring. Speaking on 'The Kelly Clarkson Show', the 'Mystic River' star said: "I felt like I really, really didn't want anyone else to know I was proposing, so I didn't told my friends or my family. No one knew, which meant I had to go and find that ring all by myself. And I have to say that I'm really not a jewelry guy. I just don't get it." Eventually, the 'Footloose' actor found a ring that he thought fit. "I'm not a jewelry guy but I found this ring and I thought it was awesome. I gave it to her and she was touched and said 'I do'." But Kyra was probably not so convinced of the piece of jewelry. "Then three months later we were in bed and I woke up and she was crying and I was like, 'What's wrong?' I wondered if she would break up with me. Finally she said, 'I don't like the ring!' After that I persuaded her. 'It's alright, it's alright honey - we're going back. I don't care - we're bringing him back.'"
But the two made it down the aisle and they must have chosen the wedding rings together.
