The 55-year-old actress and her husband Kevin Bacon were invited to a celebrity dinner hosted by Tom Cruise and his then-wife Nicole Kidman in the early '90s.
Reason: Bacon and Cruise were co-starring on the legal drama 'A Matter of Honor' at the time. Now, Kyra reveals that her curiosity got the better of her and she couldn't resist pressing a strange button she had discovered. Speaking to 'The Drew Barrymore' show, Kyra recalled: "It's a pretty good story. It was a sad moment but it was a funny story. So I was pregnant, I was very pregnant, and we were invited to dinner. I had been working with Tom [on 'Born On The Fourth Of July'] but Kev was filming ['A Matter of Honor' with him]. So we got invited to dinner with a lot of famous people like Demi Moore and Bruce Willis because she was in the movie." She adds, "It was one of those nights that I often don't get invited to and there was this mantel and I looked around and there was this little knob under the mantel."
Sedgwick pushed the button, hoping something "interesting" would happen, but when nothing happened, she started to get nervous. "So I tapped Tom on the shoulder, who was in the middle of a story, and said, 'I pressed this button down here.' And he said, 'You pushed that button?' And I said, 'Yes, I pushed that button.' And he says, 'That's the panic button.'"
It wasn't long before the meal was interrupted by the arrival of several police cars. Kyra confesses, "I wasn't invited back."
