The 43-year-old presented the adventure show 'I'm a Star – Get Me Out of Here' alongside Sonja Zietlow for a whole nine years. But now it's over for the moderator for family reasons. In his last jungle camp episode, the big reunion, there were a few sobs to say goodbye.

After the previous jungle camp host Dirk Bach suddenly died in 2012, Daniel got his job. He still credits his colleague Sonja for making his start as easy as possible despite the sad circumstances. Daniel said on the show: "My biggest thanks go to Sonja, who made it so easy for me in 2013, even though it was so difficult - I know it was difficult for you too."
In an RTL statement at the beginning of the month, Daniel explained his exit from the show, which has always been filmed in Australia and this year in South Africa: "The reason for this is my family, who will support me in the future because of compulsory schooling can no longer accompany I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all the amazing colleagues who make this show the extraordinary spectacle it is every year.”
