Being on stage, entertaining people at full throttle: That's what Andreas Gabalier loves about his job. But the entertainer also inspires with quieter, more profound songs. And with these song lyrics he usually processes strokes of fate that he himself experienced in the past - music as a kind of therapy. Andreas Gabalier processes grief and lovesickness in his songs
In interviews, Andreas doesn't actually talk about the suicides of his father Wilhelm and his younger sister Elisabeth. But he made an exception for RTL. His father took his own life in 2006, when Andreas was 21 years old. And just two years later, his daughter Elisabeth did the same. It is unimaginable what the singer, his mother Huberta and his brother Willi had to endure during this time! The music gave him support back then, helped him process the endless grief.
Even after the painful separation from his longtime girlfriend Silvia Schneider in 2019, it helped the 37-year-old to be able to process the heartache in the form of music. And his music is currently also a top priority for him, because possible love affairs with women "currently have no place" in his everyday life. Now his new tour is coming up.
