Up to now he only flew to Mallorca as a tourist to Ballermann - now a dream of Julian Sommer is coming true: He performs as a singer on the Playa and heats up the crowd with his catchy tune "Dicht im Flieger". We visited the up-and-coming artist and his family in his home region of the Eifel and accompanied him on his first appearance at the Bierkönig, as can be seen in the video.
All the young girls are into him
"In the Bierkönig itself, I had the idea: Come on, do a Mallorca song so that everyone can sing along," explains Julian Sommer in the RTL interview. Now the time has come and the 24-year-old celebrates his premiere at Ballermann. At first he only practiced in front of his mirror in the Eifel. He grew up here, plays handball with his boys and enjoys the countryside with his dog. That wasn't enough action for him - that's why he has now emigrated to the Germans' favorite island and lives in a shared flat. He also works from here as a sales manager, which is very reassuring for Mama Martina. For her, her son's new passion still takes a lot of getting used to: "Maybe it's not the number one job he wants right now, but I have to say quite clearly: I know how important it is to him and he also has a second source of income.“
The party crowd on Mallorca already knows his song inside out. It is played here in a continuous loop. Ballermann icon DJ Balineiro already speaks of Julian as a "whiz kid" and knows: "All the young girls are into him anyway!" But not many people know what Julian Sommer looks like. But that could change now, with his premiere at Ballermann…
