Heidi's annual scary parties have become legendary. However, their first celebration, back in 2000, recently drew criticism because of the guests who included Ghislaine Maxwell - who was convicted of five counts of sex trafficking by a US jury in December - and the 61-year-old prince.
When asked how she remembered the evening, Heidi said: "It was my very first party and I was very excited to meet a prince. To be honest I had 50 friends there - but all of them others, I have no idea who invited her or him. Of course you get more press when someone like that comes, so I was happy, but others organized it. And he was nice as far as I could tell when he said, 'Hi, nice to meet you.'"
Virginia Giuffre has accused convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein - who committed suicide in August 2019 - and his former girlfriend Ghislaine of arranging and forcing sex with Andrew in 2001. Heidi admitted that she doesn't know "what to think of the scandal". Asked what she thinks of Andrew now, she told The Times Weekend magazine: "It's hard to know what to think. The story is still unfolding and I'm watching it just like you."
Andrew, who was stripped of his patronage and military ties in the wake of the scandal, has denied the allegations against him.
