While everyone was happy about the twins of Princess Mary and Prince Frederik of Denmark at the beginning of January, around 1,000 kilometers away the little cousin of the two newborns was battling a serious illness. Prince Henrik, son of Princess Marie and Prince Joachim of Denmark, was taken to hospital as an emergency. The little prince was in Florida with his parents when he suddenly couldn't breathe. As the Danish magazine 'Seg og Hör' reports, according to the magazine 'Bunte', Marie totally panicked and took her 20-month-old son straight to the best children's hospital in the area.

Lene Balley, spokeswoman for the Danish royal family, confirms: "Prince Henrik was dehydrated and had bronchitis and therefore had to be treated in hospital." The little prince is said to be back on his feet now.

But it is bitter for Henrik's parents: After their return, they had to face the rumors that a fraternal dispute had arisen between Frederik and Joachim. That's what the Danes suspected when Joachim and Marie didn't rush to the hospital to greet their sister-in-law's babies.

Prince Joachim's smoking is said to be partly responsible for his son's shortness of breath. In the future, heavy smokers should probably keep their hands off the fags. And the little prince's grandmother should probably take a step back. Queen Margrethe is a self-confessed smoker.
