Jensen Ackles was already a child model at the age of four and again at the age of ten. He also discovered his passion for acting while still at school.
He first appeared in front of the camera in the mid-1990s for an episode of the US series 'Whishbone'. Shortly thereafter, he landed a recurring role on the series 'Mr. Rhodes', which starred the then 17-year-old on screens for a total of seven episodes. After three years on the set of the soap opera 'Days of Our Lives', Ackles joined the cast of 'Dark Angel' in 2001, playing the character 'Alec/Ben' for a total of 22 episodes. He also appeared in 12 episodes of the youth series 'Dawson's Creek' and 22 episodes of 'Smallville', further increasing his popularity.
In 2005, Jensen Ackles was finally offered a role that was to help him make his breakthrough as an actor: he received one of the two main roles in the mystery horror series 'Supernatural', which was so well received by series fans that there are now eleven seasons were produced. Ackles' co-star on the series is Jared Padalecki, who plays 'Dean Winchester's' brother 'Sam'. 'Supernatural' has won multiple People's Choice Awards for Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy Show and has been nominated for numerous other awards including the Teen Choice Award, the Tubey Award and the Portal Award '. Despite his involvement in 'Supernatural,' Jensen Ackles has found time to accept other role offers in recent years, including 2007's 'Ten Inch Hero' and 2009's feature film 'My Bloody Valentine 3D.'
