Candice Accola is an American actress, singer and songwriter. She is best known for her role as Caroline Forbes on The Vampire Diaries. Prior to that, Accola starred in well-known television series such as 'How I Met Your Mother' and 'Hanna Montana'. Candice is also a successful singer. She released one album and showcased her singing talents on 'The Vampire Diaries', among others, when she covered the 'Bangles' track 'Eternal Flame'.

In 2011, Candice met guitarist Joe King at a 'Super Bowl' event. They became engaged in May 2013 and married in October of the following year in New Orleans, Louisiana. Upon marriage, Candice became a stepmother to King's two daughters from his first marriage. In August 2015, the two announced that they were expecting their first child together. In January, the daughter named Florence May was born.
Accola, along with fellow actors Michael Trevino and Ian Somerhalder, supports the initiative called 'It Gets Better Project', which aims to protect 'LGBT' youth from suicide.
Although her parents are Republicans, Candice supports Barack Obama and gay rights.
