In December 2006, Accola independently released their debut album 'It's Always The Innocent Ones'. She wrote thirteen of the fourteen songs herself, the other title is a cover of the hit 'Voices Carry' from 'Til Tuesday'. After two years, the Japanese version of the album was released and was very successful in Japan. Accola also accompanied Miley Cyrus on her tour as a backing singer. In 2011, she sang a cover of 'Eternal Flame' on 'The Vampire Diaries'.
As an actress, Candice Accola made her film debut in the 2007 movie 'Pirate Camp'. She later guest starred on 'How I Met Your Mother', 'Drop Dead Diva' and 'Supernatural'. In July 2009 she starred in 'Deadgirl'. The horror film is about two college boys who discover an immortal woman in an abandoned asylum. That same year, Candice landed a small role in a 'Hannah Montana' movie.
In 2009, Accola starred in the series 'The Vampire Diaries' in which she played the teenage vampire 'Caroline Forbes'. 'Caroline' is the daughter of the female sheriff of 'Mystic Falls'. She constantly struggles with her self-confidence and has a difficult relationship with her mother. The series was already very successful after the premiere. Accola received critical acclaim for her performances, earning a total of five Teen Choice Awards from 2012 to 2015. Since 2012 she has played the character of 'Chloe Cunningham' on 'YouTube' in the series 'Dating Rules from My Future Self'.
