The 'Havana' singer admitted it would have been 'strange' if her boyfriend Shawn Mendes had been cast as Prince Charming alongside her as Cinderella in Kay Cannon's upcoming film adaptation of the classic fairy tale 'Cinderella,' but was Glad her partner was by her side throughout the making of the film.
The singer explained in an interview with 'Entertainment Tonight': "We watched it when Kay was on Zoom and it was the first time I saw the film and Shawn was there. And it was easy so funny he's my typei love this guy It would have been weird [if he played the prince] because he's my boyfriend in real life. [But] he's the best and I think we really support each other and always want to see each other." And Camila also recalled how the 'Stitches' hitmaker surprised her on set one day during filming. "He surprised me the week of the prom and saw me do one of the scenes. So he was there from the beginning and gave me so much support. I'm fortunate to have some amazing people in my life." The 24-year-old pop singer said she learned "so much" during filming and found the director's take on the story inspiring.
