The pop icon secretly met with 75-year-old music legend and music producer Andrew Watt at a Beverly Hills recording studio last month to work on a new version of Elton's 1971 classic, the will be Britney's first single in six years.
And besides 'Tiny Dancer', the track also includes parts of Elton's 1992 track 'The One' and other tunes from his hits. Expected to be released before the end of August, 'Hold Me Closer' follows Elton and Dua Lipa's hit 'Cold Heart', which is a mashup of the songs 'Rocket Man', 'Sacrifice', 'Kiss The Bride' and 'Where's The Shoorah?' is. A source told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: "Elton has helped countless artists over the years, both publicly and privately, and was keenly aware of Britney's struggle to escape her tutelage. You know each other for years and Elton has personally invited Brit to some of his famous Oscar parties. He really wants what is best for her and hearing them on one song together is amazing." Britney, whose 13-year tutelage finally ended in November 2021, recently hinted that she is considering releasing new music again.
