The newcomer to "Das Supertalent": Who is the moderator Chantal Janzen?

Chantal Janzen is the new woman on the jury of the RTL talent show "Das Supertalent". The Dutch moderator and actress is still largely unknown in Germany. Who is the 42-year-old who will soon be judging the talent of the show candidates together with soccer player Lukas Podolski and designer Michael Michalsky?

Acting, singing, moderation: Chantal Janzen can do everything

Janzen was born in February 1979 in Tegelen, a formerly independent city that is now part of Venlo as a district. After school, she trained at the Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Amsterdam. In addition to several dance disciplines, she also studied acting, singing and music repertoire. The holistic training quickly got her jobs as a musical actress as well as a series and film actress, she was seen in the plays "Tarzan" and "Beauty and the Beast". The blonde was also active as a singer.

In her native Netherlands, Chantal Janzen has been a big star and a sought-after presenter for quite some time. From 2012 to 2016 she starred in the series "Divorce", based on an idea of her famous compatriot Linda de Mol. In Germany, the format was adapted and made known in 2015 by the RTL broadcaster under the title "Men! - Alles auf Anfang".

The 42-year-old, who has two children aged three and twelve with her husband Marco Geeratz, has also been seen several times on German television. In 2015 she was on the jury of the Sat.1 casting show "Superkids - The Biggest Little Talents in the World". That same year and the following year, she also supported main presenter Thore Schölermann on "The Voice Kids" as Green Room presenter.

In May she presented the Eurovision Song Contest

Janzen made her biggest international appearance a good month and a half ago as part of the team of moderators at the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam. A good year earlier, she had also presented the ESC replacement show "Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light" from the port city after the annual competition had to be canceled due to the corona pandemic.

From 2021, the Dutchwoman will sit on the jury panel of "Das Supertalent" as part of a promising trio with Lukas Podolski and Michael Michalsky. Does she cut a good figure there too?
