Hardly any other song in 2022 caused such a stir as the one about the "Puffmutter Layla" by DJ Robin und Schürze. There are still big sexism debates about the lyrics of the song. Now the two mood interpreters are guests on the ZDF television garden - and with their original version of "Layla", which has not been defused, they are causing enthusiasm in the stands.
"We love you, la la la la la la la Layla," the party-loving guests of the ZDF television garden roared along as DJ Robin and Schürzer gave their all on stage. And indeed: the majority of the audience celebrated with a Polonese to the sounds of the two Malle singers. In the end, the Fernsehgarten even loudly demanded: “ENHANCEMENT!” And ZDF actually complied: there was about an extra minute of “Layla” for the viewers. Many Twitter users are also celebrating the performance.
"If you knew what we were thinking about, because of the two," says TV garden presenter Andrea Kiewel to DJ Robin and Schürze. And because it was so well received, the two boys are allowed to perform again.
Previously it was said that a defused version of the Ballermann hit should run in the TV garden special edition "Mallorca vs. Oktoberfest". The producer of the song, Ikke Hipgold, doesn't want to know anything about it, as he already told RTL and stayed with the original version.
"Layla" gets new text
Six Weeks is the hit in the charts and takes the first place. And yet there had recently been bans on playing at various folk festivals. But that never discouraged DJ Robin, Schürze and Ikke Hipgold. On the contrary: it spurred her on to create an additional children's version of the song as well. More in the video.
