2007 Mark Medlock was still on the winning side - now the former 'DSDS' winner is said to be threatened with financial ruin: the 38-year-old singer is said to be broke and, according to 'Bild', is on the verge of personal bankruptcy. According to the newspaper, his house in Cologne – 286 square meters in size, purchase price 415,000 euros – will go under the hammer.
"The Sparkasse Köln Bonn has issued an enforcement order against Mr. Medlock because of outstanding claims. Since Mr. Medlock was unable to make any payments to the bailiff, he had to provide information on his assets," said the press spokeswoman for the Flensburg District Court 'Bild'.
The days of No.1 hits are over
In 2013 he finally announced that he wanted to retire from the music business. He moved to the house of his we althy manager Cornelia Reckert on Sylt to get some distance. But even there he couldn't find peace. After a performance, he freaked out with an ax in his hand and had to spend a night in police custody. A short time later he insulted his fans at a concert.
