The holidays are coming, the time for family celebrations. An emotional time for Nazan Eckes. The presenter has a father suffering from dementia. In an interview, Nazan revealed how the family spends the Christmas season.
Burning situation for the "Extra" presenter
"When my father was he althy, he always dreamed of spending his old age in Turkey. When the time comes, he won't even notice it anymore," says the TV face in an interview with "Bild". She herself spends the holidays with her husband Julian Khol and their sons Lounis and Ilyas in Vienna, with Nazan's parents-in-law.
Her father Necmettin Üngör and her mother Gülser Üngör are now in Turkey. Her dad reacts strongly to Turkish music, but unfortunately doesn't recognize his daughter or her children for a long time.

She also described her feelings in a post in September. Back then, during the fall visit, she wrote that the time with her parents was "worth its weight in gold", because: "It's probably the last summer that my father still halfway recognizes me. He hasn't known my name for a long time, but he feels the bond. I really wanted to see him and my indestructibly strong mom again."
In early 2021, Nazan took a career break to look after her dad. Since April she has been back in front of the camera of the RTL magazine "Extra". Despite the difficult situation, the TV star wants to give his children a nice party. As she revealed in the "Bild" interview, all the gifts for the offspring have long since been bought.
