It has already been three months since a court decision turned Boris Becker's life 180 degrees. The former tennis star had to exchange his luxury villa for a cell in prison. Fortunately, the three-time Wimbledon winner does not have to share that, as his lawyer Christian-Oliver Moser now confirms on RTL demand.

Becker can sleep in peace

Two and a half years behind bars - that is the 54-year-old's prison sentence, which was imposed on him by judge Deborah Taylor for delaying bankruptcy. Only after half the time does the ex-professional athlete have the opportunity to be released on probation. This means that Boris will not be able to return to his home and girlfriend Lilian de Carvalho Monteiro and his children until the summer of 2023 at the earliest. Until then, the convicted tennis ace has to stay in Huntercombe prison.

Boris Becker transferred to another prison

But the conditions have already improved for the 54-year-old in contrast to when he entered prison. Previously he was in Wandsworth Prison in London - a horror prison known for its inhumane conditions. The Huntercombe is a different house number - simply because there is a lower level of security. Apparently, his transfer was accompanied by an upgrade to a solitary cell, at least Moser confirms that Becker does not have to share his sleeping space with any other criminal.
