Shortly after her second son had also turned his back on his parental home, Barbara threw herself wholeheartedly into her work – among other things, she became a female author again."I wrote a book with my friend Christiane Soyke, which means: 'Mom alone at home - how concentrated girlfriend power saved us from the empty nest syndrome'", she reveals in an interview with "Promiflash". However, you also have to deal with the topic and not simply suppress it: "I noticed that you can't distract yourself, you have to get used to the new situation."

Meanwhile, Barbara seems to get along quite well without her boys, even if she can't really say goodbye to Elias' room, which at least occasionally serves as a guest room. But: "It's not like I'm walking through the rooms mourning," she clarifies. A few months ago things looked a little different. Because letting her youngest go was extremely difficult for her. "It's a feeling of emptiness and sadness," she told us at the time.
