While US President Joe Biden is in Bavaria for the G7 summit, his wife Jill arrived in Madrid, Spain, on Sunday evening. In the course of the NATO meeting there, to which President Biden will travel on Tuesday, the First Lady met Spain's Queen Letizia.

Together they visited the Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer, an organization dedicated to the fight against cancer. Biden chose a red two-piece ensemble for the occasion, consisting of a skirt and jacket with gold buttons. Queen Letizia wore a fitted black and white polkadot dress.

Family support

Although Jill Biden had to do without her husband, there were two other Bidens at her side. The First Lady flew to Spain with her granddaughter Maisy Biden. Granddaughter Finnegan Biden was already there to receive them both.

"I brought my two granddaughters. We stayed up and had a glass of wine together," Jill Biden is said to have confided in Queen Letizia at their meeting at the Palacio de la Zarzuela, according to the Daily Mail. However, she did not take the two to the events on Monday, they stayed at the US Embassy in Madrid.

Next Tuesday the two women will visit a refugee home for Ukrainians. Along with her husbands Joe Biden and King Felipe VI. take part in an official banquet in the evening. The NATO summit runs until June 30.
