Even royal families need to relax: Queen Letizia of Spain is currently on her well-deserved summer vacation – together with her husband Felipe, mother-in-law Sofia and her daughters Princess Leonor and Princess Sofia. The Queen is enjoying the holiday season on the sunny island of Mallorca. She has a few official appointments to attend there, but she's mostly on the island to get some rest.
What does Queen Letizia do in her spare time?
The queen likes to spend her free time at the open sea. Her husband is a passionate sailor, but Letitia is usually not on board when he goes sailing on the high seas. The Queen seems to want to keep it private and doesn't see the public much. While Felipe traveled to Mallorca on July 28, 2022, she only arrived on the island two days later on July 30, 2022 with her daughters Leonor and Sofia. Since then she has appeared on two dates and a photo shoot in Valldemossa. Otherwise, she has only been seen twice going out to dinner with her family. Most of the time she stays at the family residence in the Marvient Palace grounds, according to Spanish media.
A break from royal duties

Queen Letizia was also absent on August 6 when the 40th Copa del Rey Mapfre regatta, a battle of yachts in different classes, ended after six days. King Felipe was there and presented the trophy while his wife was busy with other things. As the Spanish magazine "Vanitatis" claims to have learned, Letizia met her friends Cristina and Pilar that Saturday and went on a trip to the beach with her daughters Leonor and Sofia in tow - after all, the family is on vacation.
