Although Madeleine of Sweden is a real princess, she likes to stay in the background. This is of course also due to the fact that she has turned her back on her homeland and moved to the USA with her husband Chris O'Neill and their three children. But does the 40-year-old also prefer quiet in her private life? We checked with nobility expert Michael Begasse. Not only does he know what makes Madeleine tick, he also met her in person during her recent visit to Germany! All information is available in the video!

Madeleine is project sponsor at the RTL donation marathon 2022

Princess Madeleine was on a flying visit to Germany for a good reason. She was in her new role as "Deputy Honorary Chair" and visited a joint aid project with RTL Charity Director Wolfram Kons. The mother of three is a project sponsor for the "RTL Foundation - We help children e. V." and looked at the construction site of the ninth childhood home in Germany in Frankfurt am Main. These serve as a contact point for children and young people who have experienced physical and sexualised violence - they can get all the important help there in a child-friendly and protected environment.

"This contact point is a very important place. We have to help children affected by sexualized violence and give them a voice," Princess Madeleine explained during her visit, adding: "I am a mother of three children myself. Children have rights! Here children affected by sexualized violence and abused are optimally taken care of. They come first and ideally only have to describe their terrible experiences once and are not constantly questioned. Here they are strengthened, learn not to be ashamed and that they are not to blame for what was done to them."

With this, Madeleine continues what her mother, Queen Silvia, started in 1999 with the founding of the "World Childhood Foundation": "Our mother always told us what she experienced on her travels for Childhood and how other children in the world are doing. Now I know how important that is and was. That's why this project is also very important to me personally."
