The palace has now released a clip showing the overjoyed Duchess Kate taking part in a regatta. The 40-year-old Duchess's big smile shows her passion for water sports.
Duchess Kate is beaming with joy
Last Sunday, Duchess Kate joined Sir Ben Ainslie's British team to win a friendly regatta. Great Britain took on the team from New Zealand on the coast of Plymouth.
The palace had published corresponding impressions in the form of photos on Prince William and Kate's Instagram account. Now there is also a short video clip that shows how much the Duchess was obviously looking forward to it. Kate, who has been sailing since she was a child, can be seen beaming at several points in the video.
It wasn't just the race that mattered to the Duchess
Duchess Kate didn't just come to the event out of her enthusiasm for sailing. The mum of three was also there for another reason: she attended the event in her role as patron of the 1851 Trust charity, which Ainslie helped found in 2014.
"It's not just racing that's so important to these teams, but also a commitment to protecting the future of our planet and inspiring the next generation to do the same," reads an attached comment. The organization wants to give young people a better understanding of careers in fields such as technology, engineering and natural sciences through sport.
