It's been almost exactly a year since the third and last season of the German coming-of-age series "How to Sell Drugs Online" was released on the Netflix streaming service. The future of the drug dealer show, which is based on the true story of a nursery dealer, has been unclear ever since. But now co-series creator Philipp Käßbohrer has officially confirmed in an interview with the media magazine "DWDL" that there will also be a fourth season of the successful Netflix series.
"We will start developing the fourth season of 'How to Sell Drugs Online' next week," says Kässbohrer. The extension that has now taken place comes as a bit of a surprise, since the story of the main character Moritz basically seemed to have been told. Like his real role model, the young drug dealer ended up in prison in the last episode that was released so far. Since the producing Cologne-based bildundtonfabrik is only just starting to develop season four, it will probably take some time before it is released on Netflix.
"How to Sell Drugs Online": This is how it continues in season four
According to producer and co-creator Matthias Murmann, the coming episodes will be about the experiences of the characters after they left school, which represents "an exciting narrative challenge". "What are they doing with their lives?" Murmann asks himself, because "as we all know, growing up really only begins after you graduate from school."
"How to Sell Drugs Online " is based on the true story of a 19-year-old drug dealer, Maximilian Schmidt, who sold large quantities of illegal substances on the Internet under the name Shiny Flakes.
